JR Recovery, procedures and
HIPAA Compliance
HIPAA is a set of rules and
regulations which hospitals, doctors, healthcare
providers, health plans and their authorized vendors
must follow in order to provide services aptly and
ensure that there is no breach of confidence while
maintaining patient records and patient health
information.
The Privacy Rule provides federal
protections for personal health information held by
covered entities and gives patients an array of
rights with respect to that information. At the same
time, the Privacy Rule is balanced so that it
permits the disclosure of personal health
information needed for patient care and other
important purposes.
Electronic processing and
transfer of data via 128 bit FTP (File Transfer
Protocol) is encrypted and password protected to
ensure privacy and confidentiality. Dedicated leased
lines and Firewalls ensure security of data.
Confidentiality of patient and practice information
is assured. We have a zero tolerance policy for any
breech of confidentiality. Records are kept secure
and all appropriate laws are observed for handling
the release of information.
As
a leading provider of financial services, JR complies
with all HIPAA regulations and employs a full-time Chief
Compliance Officer. Our electronic systems include many
safeguards to protect the security and confidentiality
of health information. We remain dedicated to protecting
both patient and physician information, and we continue
to develop systems to ensure complete confidentiality.
